Position
As hardware engineer in the Application Engineering team, the holder of this position will be responsible for the efficient integration of the company’s short range radio products to various customer applications, with a focus on V2X systems. This will be achieved by developing reference designs featuring company products and solutions, as well as supporting the Technical Managers (TM) and Field Application Engineers (FAE) in all aspects of resolution of technical problems and pre-sales activities.
The efficiency of the application of our products is supported with the creation and maintenance of support tools and training of our Field Application Engineers and Sales Staff on company products and V2X technology in general.
The successful candidate will facilitate the information flow from first-level technical support to Product Development and R&D for the benefit of the customer. Additionally, the function supports the improvement of existing products and the creation of new products by collecting and examination of market feedback and by analysis of competitive products.

Tasks

       General

• Creation and maintenance of training materials for the u-blox V2X product line
• Creation and maintenance of relevant documentation (manuals, application notes, data sheets)
• Support the development of reference designs featuring company products for integration with the customer’s product
• Second-level support (escalation point of contact in R&D for TM and FAE's)
• Information exchange between first-level support (FAE) and product development teams (bugs, issues, design recommendations, feature roadmap)
• Coordinate the replication and resolution of reported issues between first-level support (FAE) and product development teams
• Hardware schematic reviews and advice, layout analysis
• Assist lead/key customers with design support upon Sales/FAE request
• Competition analysis with a technical focus

  Customer specific / small design projects

• Customization of core R&D deliverables
• Supporting tools (e.g. programming sockets for FAEs)
• Reference designs, including verification of application circuits.

         Participation in product lifecycle processes

• Preparation and delivery of technical field/market feedback in the specification phase
• Dissemination of information to FAE organization after prototype release
• Technical RMA analysis (engineering backend for RMA process under lead of Quality department)                          

Requirements

• MS or BS in electrical engineering, computer science or relevant discipline
• Several years’ work experience in hardware design (schematics and layout)
• Customer-oriented ; needs to be able to quickly understand the system architecture of the customer application and provide expertise and advise on a technical level
• Good analytical skills
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently
• Fluent English language skills
• Technical writing capabilities
• Greek (or EU) citizen or holder of a valid Greek work permit

Knowledge in the following areas is an advantage:

• Wireless communications theory and concepts.
• Familiarity with the IEEE 802.11 specifications
• Interest in V2X and automotive ECU technology
• Knowledge of SDIO, SPI, I2C, UART, USB and other communication interfaces
• Networking protocols
