Senior Software Engineer (DB specialty)

an innovative shipping start-up with a passion for technology, is looking for a high-calibre software engineer to join, as a key member, its strategic Information function in Athens..

As part of this role you can expect to work on projects of strategic importance, handle the latest technologies and contribute throughout the development life-cycle of line-of-business and business intelligence applications. Responsibilities:

As a Senior Software Engineer you will be responsible for requirements gathering, architecture definition / blueprinting, development, refactoring and unit testing of production code-sets. Testing and organizing/coordinating testing, including regression testing and troubleshooting. Managing source control, configuration management and build management for production and development code-sets. Also you should be able to administering and optimizing Databases and authoring and maintaining documentation at various levels

Απαιτήσεις - The ideal candidate:

- 3-5 years’ experience in server side development (Microsoft C#, .NET, OOD)

- Experience in MS SQL Server skills, including DB design, implementation, administration, performance tuning, data transformation and loading, master data management, data quality services, etc.

- Good understanding of Design Patterns and frameworks such as Repository Pattern, ORM tools e.g. Entity Framework, etc

- Experience in development methodology (AGILE, SCRUM) and testing methodologies.

- An excellent command of written and spoken English

Desired Skills:

- Experience with MS Azure database-related offerings

- Experience in Data Science related technologies (e.g. NoSQL DBs, Hadoop, Machine Learning techniques, etc.)

- Experience in MS Business Intelligence technologies (MSAS, MSRS, PowerBI, etc.)

- Worked in an international, dynamic and challenging work environment where well developed design, development, testing and configuration methodologies are upheld and strongly endorsed
