Purpose of the Position
The incumbent is responsible for design, implementation and support of Messaging services for ICC and its clients.
Objectives of the Programme
The objectives of the Centre, as stated by its mandate, are to provide information and communication technology (ICT) services (including training) on an inter-organizational basis.
Summary of Assigned Duties
Under the supervision of the Head, Messaging Services Unit, the incumbent will be responsible for design, implementation and support of Messaging and Collaboration services for ICC and its clients.
He/She will
- Install, configure and support Microsoft Exchange 2013, associated servers
- Configure and Support Exchange on Office 365 Tenant
- Resolve incidents, implement problem resolutions
- Handle requests for services related to the messaging environment
- Perform day-to-day housekeeping activities on the Exchange and related infrastructure
- Deliver continuing service improvement through process improvements such as scripting of manual procedures and implementing self-service features to support delegation of service administration
- Prepare technical documentation on the messaging environment and related procedures and operations
- Support the evolution of the messaging service through the design and implementation of new service features and infrastructure
- Perform other duties as required
The incumbent may be requested to provide support during weekends, holidays or outside working hours as well as to serve as a 'stand-by' officer on a rotation basis.

Functional Knowledge and Skills
Essential
- Sound conceptual and hands-on knowledge of Enterprise Messaging solutions covering email, calendaring, remote access solutions, directory integration, single sign-on solutions, virus and spam control, and email relay
- Sound conceptual and hands-on knowledge of Microsoft O365
- Sound conceptual and hands-on knowledge of Microsoft Exchange, Active Directory and their integration
- Sound conceptual and hands-on knowledge of migrations from Exchange 2010 to Exchange 2013 or O365
- Sound conceptual and hands-on knowledge of Windows Server administration
- Sound conceptual and hands-on knowledge of scripting in C# and PowerShell
- Troubleshooting skills
- Knowledge of mobility solutions such as BlackBerry or ActiveSync
- Knowledge of SMTP Relay, Spam and Virus filtering systems
- Knowledge of LAN/WAN architecture and networking (TCP/IP, etc.)
Desirable
- Knowledge of Microsoft System Center Operations Manager
- Knowledge of other Microsoft Windows Server technologies including Forefront, DPM, WUS, SQL Server, Lync

Education
Essential
- University degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field
- Microsoft Exchange 2013 certification

Experience
Essential
- Four years of IT work experience with at least 3+ years' experience in system administration of Microsoft Exchange Servers
- Experience in installation, configuration and support of multi-site Microsoft Exchange environments offering high availability and disaster recovery
- Two+ years' experience of PowerShell scripting in Windows and Exchange system administration tasks
Desirable
- One+ year experience in administration of Blackberry Servers for Microsoft Exchange/Lotus Domino/Novell GroupWise
- Experience in configuring and support of Microsoft Lync and IP telephony solutions.
- Sizing and design of Exchange infrastructure
- Experience with other messaging systems such as Lotus Domino and GroupWise
- Experience in using and configuring enterprise monitoring and alerting solutions to ensure messaging service availability
Languages
- Expert knowledge of English is required.
- Intermediate knowledge of French is desirable.
