The Cyprus Institute(CyI, www.cyi.ac.cy), is a non-profit science and technology research and educational institution. CyI is seeking a dynamic and versatile professional for the day to day execution of HR activities and to contribute to the long‐term development of the HR function in particular.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Undertakes and organizes all general administration activities of the HR Department ensuring compliance with the relevant Cyprus and EU legislations
- Handles all Recruitment & Selection activities; acts as a liaison with the various departments of the Cyprus Institute regarding new vacant positions, communicates these positions to the various recruitment sources, provides feedback to all applicants and candidates and keeps accurate records of all applications
- Handles visa applications for international staff
- Undertakes the coordination of the Induction and Orientation Procedure ensuring the smooth adjustment of new staff members
- Actively participates in the development, implementation and communication of all HR related projects and procedures
- Handles all types of leave and benefit processes and queries
- Enters personnel related data to the relevant HR databases and prepares accurate information reports for the Institute’s management
- Contributes in the coordination of all personnel related events
- Maintains and develops the Institute’s personnel filing system
Qualifications:
- Holder of a Master’s or equivalent degree in a relevant field with preference in Human Resources or Personnel Management
- Previous relevant experience of at least 2 years in an HR Department or similar.
- Good knowledge of the EU and Cyprus employment legislation.
- Excellent IT skills in MS Office and particularly in Excel as well as ability in the use of other software and systems.
- Excellent Greek and English language skills both verbally and in writing
- High level organizational, analytical and problem solving skills
- Ability to multitask changing priorities with limited supervision in a high-pressure work environment
- High level of communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to adopt in a multicultural environment
- Ability to communicate with discretion and to maintain confidentiality in all matters
