Description:
We offer a very future-oriented and industrial-oriented dissertation in the field of MEMS (Micro-Electro-Mechanical Systems) speakers. Since MEMS prototyping is a very expensive and lengthy process, a computer based model has to be created, which is capable of simulating a piezo-electrically actuated speaker and optimize both sound pressure level and quality.
Focus of the thesis is to accurately model a single transducer and an array of MEMS transducers, where the output of your model supports the prototyping-process and gains performance in the acoustic field.
The prototyping-process is performed in parallel at the Institute of Sensors and Actuators in the Micro-System-Technology division at O.Univ. Prof. U. Schmid (E366), as well as at our industrial partners Infineon AG Munich and Infineon AG Villach.
Requirements:
– Careful, structurated and self-organized way of working
– Knowledge about modeling and simulation
– Useful lectures: Finite Element Method for coupled fields (325074)
Beginning: October 2014
