Process Development Engineer - Chemical Process Technology

Qualifications

We are looking for a Process Engineer to our Separation team in our R&D Centre in Kantvik, Finland. As a Process Engineer, your main responsibilities will be:

  • Planning, executing, managing and reporting process development projects;
  • Acting as a team member in projects in pilot and plant scale;
  • Participation in start-ups, plant optimisation, and technology transfer;
  • Feasibility studies and calculations;
  • Supervising pilot plant/bench/lab personnel in project setting;
  • Scheduling and organising work for projects;
  • Conducting safety assessments and reviews for projects, participation in Process Safety Management at production plants as needed.

You have a minimum of BSc degree (with 5 years of experience in industrial/pilot plant environment) in chemical engineering or other suitable area. Preferably you are MSc (Tech.) with experience in industrial/pilot plant environment. You have proven competencies in:

  • People skills, interaction skills and team skills;
  • Excellent safety attitude;
  • Excellent understanding on chemical/bio engineering basics (mass/energy balances, equipment, separation technology unit operations);
  • Membrane separation and enzyme application know-how an asset;
  • Problem solving skills and continuous learning attitude;
  • Multitasking, prioritising, and time management skills;
  • Ability to work proactively, take initiative, and deliver results;
  • Ability and willingness to work hands-on in pilot plant and plant environment;
  • Ability and willingness to work in an international environment globally (Europe, America, Asia), some travel required
  • Excellent presentation and reporting skills, written and verbal;
  • Fluency in Finnish and English required, both written and spoken. Other languages (German, Chinese, French) an asset.
