Senior Software Engineer, Web (m/f)

The Technology group at Mobile.de is responsible for driving product development and innovation for our automotive marketplaces, one of which is the largest in Germany. We work in small focussed project teams following an agile methodology. Cross functional teams including product management, product development, and UX work on a daily basis to create successful products that have impact and delight our customers.

You will work on:
• Customer facing applications for Mobile.de, e.g. in Germany that run on all relevant device types and screen sizes
• Internal tools for analysis and improving our public applications
• Continously working with other teams on how we can improve technology at Mobile.de, agile adaption and customer centric development

Our Tech Stack:
• Mostly: Javascript, HTML/CSS
• Growing: Node.js, iOS/Objective-C/Swift, Android
• Tools: Jenkins, Confluence, JIRA, github, git, etc.

Our idea of software development:
If you recall the principles of XP, you are not too far off, incl. „people first“ and methods like TDD and Pair Programming. We like to have a holistic view and room to grow into new areas for everyone, while still leveraging deep expert domain knowledge. So for instance: every developer writes his own tests and we have embedded test engineers who code. We have UX experts for every team, and still customer centric development is everyone’s responsibility.

Job Requirements

We are looking for:
An expert in frontend engineering, interested in the whole picture, ideally full stack developer. Required are 5+ yrs experiences in web development incl. mobile/responsive design, javascript, JS testing, all relevant JS/frontend frameworks and tools as well as experiences (2+ yrs) in coding services or other backend applications, preferrably in JavaScript/Node.js. You should be feeling comfortable with mentoring on web development, close collaboration with UX and visual designers, and with working in an agile environment. Since we hire and work internationally, fluent English is required.
