We are currently recruiting a Manager LNG Operations Services to join our Global LNG Operations team – this is a 4 years assignment while you would be based in Rijswijk, Netherlands after which you will continue working either in the Netherlands or in a future assignment that you will adhere to internally.

The manager LNG operations is leading a team of some 14 professionals (3 Sr.Process Engineers, Process Engineers, Graduates). The team is part of the Global LNG Operations team managed by the General Manager LNG Operations, who leads similar teams that are based in Bangalore and Houston and individual Service Managers in the 3 locations.

Responsibilities:

In your role as Manager LNG Operations Manager you will lead a team of some 14 LNG professionals that is:

  • Providing operational services to Shell advised LNG plants including Storage & Loading facilities in Asia-Pacific.
  • Assisting in the front end process design of LNG and Gas facilities from scouting, feasibility to BOD, BDP and FEED phase for LNG and Gas plants in Asia-Pacific.
  • Providing logistics support for existing and new LNG/LPG export and import facilities - providing support to commercial services management team.

The manager LNG Operational Services is responsible to drive the Shell advised export and import LNG facilities in Asia Pacific to 1st quartile performance (reliability, availability, process safety).

The Manager LNG Operational Services is responsible for the quality of the deliverables that are produced by his/her team.

Accountabilities:

  • Take overall process responsibility for the design and operation of LNG Plants and LNG/LPG import and export plants including liquefaction, re-gasification, storage and loading and logistics.
  • Manage the competency development of a team of some 10-12 professionals, including coaching of the new Graduates.
  • Steer and coordinate multidisciplinary contributions (including engineering and shipping) and take responsibility for design integration.
  • Ensure that operational lessons learned and R&D outcomes/deployable items are communicated throughout the LNG community in Shell as well as in the various JVs.
  • Coordination across Global Solutions of multidisciplinary input is of key importance.
  • Customer communication skills are important not only in delivering/presenting the deliverables but also in scoping the required work, managing progress, resolving issues and developing further shell business.

Special Challenges

  • Ensuring that operational lessons learned as well as R&D outcomes are communicated in the Shell LNG community and are communicated to the Shell advised LNG facilities.
  • Providing a depth and breadth of knowledge of LNG while at the same time leveraging as much as possible the experience available in other Global Solutions disciplines.
  • Managing multi-disciplinary input into the design and operations of LNG plants and Terminals.
  • Customer engagement is an interesting and sometimes challenging aspect of the job.
  • Building and maintaining a network in LNG sites as well as in Shell globally.
  • Responsible for maintaining a competent team and taking full ownership of the development of staff in the LNG AP Operations team.

Experience and Qualifications required

To be successful in your role you:

  • Should be educated at MSc/ BSc level in Chemical Engineering or equivalent and extensive LNG/Gas experience, operational as well as process design experience.
  • Have significant experience with customer interface.
