Task Description:
Your main goal is to coordinate the activities of the Technical Managers within the Capacity Business Unit of BICS. The technical Managers provide technical expertise on BICS’ capacity products and services to Customers and to the commercial team from the presales phase until the complete commissioning of the service. They will provide full support in the pre-sales phase, including delivering detailed technical answers to various capacity customers RFP/RFQ and meeting customers to present the technical solutions. Technical Managers are responsible for the design of the customer solution and for the end-to-end project management during the delivery phase. They handle all BICS Capacity services to External & Internal Customers.
You will handle yourself projects involving satellite connectivity. This includes projects where satellite technology is used for voice, mobile data, IP and capacity services. To this effect, you will have a specific knowledge of satellite and IP technologies.
This position requires a unique and global knowledge of the BICS Transport Network, allowing to develop creative solutions for customers in case BICS network is not designed to deliver ‘off the shelf’ customer requests.
As IP and Satellite pre-sales coordinator your performance will be measured against the following criteria:
- Customer requests being addressed with the best solution, translated in a high success rate on RFP/RFQ;
- Capacity products and services being implemented in accordance with Customers requirements and delivered in time;
- Customer satisfaction and customers buying additional BICS products or recommending BICS;
- Satisfaction of internal customers.
You will be based in Brussels while the team of 5 to 6 Technical Managers will be partly in Belgium, and partly abroad.
Your Profile:
You have a University degree in Engineering (Electronics, IT or Telecom) or telecom;
You have 5-7 years of experience in an international telecom operational or engineering environment, including a specific experience of satellite technology and IP networks, and 3 years of team leadership;
You have coordination and team management skills;
You have technical experience in Telecom, and specifically in Satellite and IP networks:
- Strong experience in IP routing/switching in LAN & WAN environments and common IP applications; Cisco CCNP/CCDP/CCDE or equivalent through experience;
- Experience in designing, deploying and operating point to point and point to multipoint satellite based networks.
You have project management and customer facing skills;
You have excellent communication skills and you can work in a multi-cultural environment;
You are creative and have good negotiation skills;
You are fluent in English, knowledge of Dutch and/or French is a plus.
