Would you like to take up the challenge of managing array cabling to ensure our renewable electrical production?

Join us and become one of our array cable engineers in our HV Cables department. We are responsible for supply, termination and hand­over to our Operations & Maintenance organisation of all array cabling related to our offshore wind farms.

The department is part of Wind Power, which has 1400 employees and is one of four business units in DONG Energy. Wind Power is the world’s largest developer and operator of offshore wind power, and we use our unique knowledge in all phases of our wind turbine projects. During the last 20 years, we have developed and constructed the largest portfolio of offshore wind farms in Northern Europe.

You may choose freely to be based either at our UK office in London or at our German office in Hamburg or alternatively at one of our Danish offices in Skærbæk near Fredericia or in Gentofte in Greater Copenhagen on local terms and conditions. You should, however, expect some travelling in Northern Europe in relation to your work.

Areas of responsibility

As Array Cable Engineer, you will be responsible for managing medium and high­voltage submarine cabling related to our offshore wind farms.

Your key tasks will be to plan, execute and follow up on projects, including managing subcontractors and consultants. In doing so, you will be cooperating closely with your colleagues based in different locations in Northern Europe. As a member of our Array Cable team, you will be co­responsible for performing tasks related to transmitting the renewable energy produced in our offshore wind farms.

Furthermore, you will be responsible for establishing common cable design guidelines and participate in knowledge sharing and technical reviews to support our ISO 9001 process.

You will also prepare technical, supply and installation requirements for offshore array cables to be used for connection of offshore platforms and wind turbines.

In addition, you will participate in technical and commercial negotiations as well as internal and external clarifications and interfaces, and you will prepare functional requirements and call off documents.

Your profile

You will hold an engineering degree in electrical engineering or similar combined with extensive experience within medium­voltage and/or high­voltage cable engineering, preferably for offshore cables.

Preferably, you will have some operational and maintenance experience combined with practical knowledge of cable design. It is essential that you have relevant experience and knowledge of relevant legislative requirements, codes, standards and industry practice related to offshore medium­voltage cable engineering.

You will be a good communicator with solid negotiation skills, who can handle both communication with many stakeholders and negotiate at many different levels. Moreover, you will speak and write English fluently, enabling you to operate efficiently in an international environment.

As a person, you are open­minded with a positive approach to your colleagues and external partners. Finally, it is also important that you are self­motivated, proactive and able to actively contribute to the team.
