UNOPS mission is to serve people in need by expanding the ability of the United Nations, governments and other partners to manage projects, infrastructure and procurement in a sustainable and efficient manner.

Within these three core areas of expertise, UNOPS provides its partners with advisory, implementation and transactional services, with projects ranging from building schools and hospitals, to procuring goods and services and training local personnel. UNOPS works closely with governments and communities to ensure increased economic, social and environmental sustainability for the projects we support, with a focus on developing national capacity.

Job-specific background and requirements

The Business Innovation and Improvement Programme (BIIP) is a three year programme with an objective of transforming UNOPS operations into a smarter, better-integrated set of processes and systems in line with our mission and vision, and the specific objectives of our strategic plan. Due to its strategic importance in UNOPS ongoing quest for excellence the programme will be located in the Executive office and work closely with all UNOPS practices and offices.

Education

The Agresso Functional Specialist will be expected to hold either a Masters Degree, preferably in Computer Science, Information Technology and Information Systems or Management Sciences; a Bachelor’s degree in combination with additional two years of experience or a Secondary Education in combination with additional six years of experience.

Experience

In addition, he/she will be expected to have obtained minimum 5 years of progressively responsible, job-related experience in the field of information technology and systems, preferably in an international development environment with a minimum of 3 years required configuring / customising Agresso ERP.

Substantive technical experience in Agresso ERP with knowledge of version 5.6 architecture is expected together with good knowledge of Agresso workflow and security, Forms, Report Creator Tool, and Customisation Tool.

Experience building data-driven web applications is required.

Language

Fluency in oral and written English is considered a requirement, while knowledge of another UN language is an asset.
