The Production Technology and Intervention Team Leader will be based in Madrid, integrated into the Operations Department and reporting to The Corporate Production Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for Production Technology/Completion/Intervention design and operations, which impact the short and long term business and field development plans.
Key accountabilities:
- Completion activities such as well testing, well completion, DST, stimulation, sampling, scale/asphaltene mitigation/removal, well services, rigless operations, etc.
- Production technology design input to field development plans and well proposals.
- Advising on all major Petroleum Engineering proposals.
- Conceptual completion and intervention design. Areas within this discipline are artificial lift, production optimizations and monitoring programs. Facilitate and include advice and support from technical specialists, service and equipment providers in the designs.
- Dissemination of best practices/methods (knowledge sharing).
- Well integrity.
- HSE in workover rig and rigless operations.
- Development and management of production personnel:
- Resource planning and recommend / hire technical staff to fill vacancies.
- Development and training of Production Technologist / Completion staff.
- Performance appraisal of direct line staff and evaluate individual potential.
- Organize team and staff within organizational boundaries.
Requirements
- BSc in Petroleum Engineering or MSc;
- Excellent spoken and written English. A knowledge of Spanish will be well regarded;
- Between 15 to 20 years’ experience as a Production Technologist or Completion Engineer with leadership experience;
- Willingness to travel.
