Essential Responsibilities:

  • The Field Service Engineer (FSE) will be in charge of site activities management including planning, assigning manpower resources and tools, providing technical assistance to complete the work scope according to contractual requirements. In particular, he/she will be responsible for:
  • Lead and execute Installation, maintenance, repair of Centrifugal Pumps and ASV ensuring to follow GE recommended procedures.
  • Supervise the mechanical installation activities of main and auxiliaries equipments .
  • Ability to perform the centrifugal pump pre-commissioning and commissioning.
  • Lead and execute Geometric dimensional check of foundation, equipment and auxiliaries skids positioning, leveling and alignment.
  • Installation and assembling activities of centrifugal pumps auxiliary equipment, such: as lube and/or seal oil console, seal gas system, interconnection piping, oil cooler, oil flushing and blowing, etc).
  • Pre-commissioning and commissioning of oil system, seal gas system.
  • Work closely with Instrumentation Specialist during the installation, calibration and set-up of centrifugal pumps electrical instrumentation (such as vibration probes, temperature elements, I/P converters, etc).
  • Verify the start-up sequence; provide assistance during the start-up phase, checking all functional parameters of centrifugal and equipment.
  • Perform small mechanical repairs and carry out any machine works at the machine tools in the workshop (lathe, mill, grinding machine).
  • Assist Start-up Engineer during the commissioning phase ensuring proper and safe operation of the machine by evaluating the running parameters and troubleshoot control system problem as they arise.
  • Write accurate professional reports acting as single point of contact between Customers and GE Oil & Gas Headquarter concerning technical issues and interfacing with all involved functions.
  • Use company e-tools to retrieve technical documents and management of packing list, bill of material and drawings.
  • Ensure all in-field activities carried out safely complying with company environmental health & Safety (EHS) guidelines and procedures.
  • The candidate will be responsible to keep reliability of Customers assets and to support on proactive way all GE O&G customers.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Mechanic Engineer Degree or Technical High School.
  • 3 - 5+ years related work experience in Oil & Gas industry maintenance or installation field activities.
  • Strong knowledge of Centrifugal Pumps and ASV Equipments and their auxiliaries (lube oil system, gas system, etc).
  • Ability to understand and implement mechanical drawings (Centrifugal Pumps & ASV section dwg; Centrifugal pumps, ASV and auxiliaries construction dwg; P&ID).
  • Good and fluent knowledge of English language.
  • Availability to frequent travel worldwide (on and off-shore).
  • Strong analytic and problem solving skills.
  • Good interpersonal & organizational skills.
  • Computer skills.
  • EU Work Permit.

  • Desired Characteristics:
  • Good knowledge of GE centrifugal pumps.
  • Good experience Anti surge valves.
  • Knowledge of Oil & Gas Installation and Maintenance Equipment philosophy.
  • Knowledge of French language or other language (Spanish, German).
  • Laser alignment device knowledge.
  • Base knowledge of instrumentation and process parameter analysis.
