Description of the job
ATR is looking for a Structures Documentation Engineer.
Within the framework of the Structures Engineering department, in the Structural Documentation Service, you will provide support for the development of the Structural Maintenance Documentation (SRM, SRKM, NDTM, CPCICF, AMM) by providing special competencies related to materials, processes and treatments, research and application of new technologies, and the production drawing system and configuration.
You will also perform a transverse function in the Structures Engineering Department, acting as an expert for your competencies.
You will be based in Toulouse.
Tasks & accountabilities
Your main activities will be as follows:
- Applying your detailed knowledge of the materials (metallic and composite) and treatments used in airframe structural design and repair
- Applying your detailed knowledge of the consumable materials used in aircraft maintenance
- Managing the ATR CML database in order to provide a unique source of information for AMM and SRM
- Ensuring continuous follow-up for material compliance with the REACH regulations
- Being aware of new developments in the aeronautical material and maintenance domains and identifying new technologies suitable for application in the ATR maintenance processes.
- Organising periodically meetings to present and discuss the new developments with the DT/S department representatives
- Applying your in-depth knowledge of the ATR Alenia and Airbus production drawing system and effectively liaising between ATR and the partners for any question regarding production drawings and the qualified material list
- Applying your in-depth knowledge of the ATR aircraft configuration management system (Mods and Service Bulletins) and providing effective support to the DT/S departments for relevant requests
- Performing the analysis for the interchangeability definition of the non-dismountable structural items identified in SRM, following an aircraft modification embodiment
- Answering the customer queries concerning technical structural documentation issues
- Providing the editing company with all the necessary support for revision of manuals
- Being available to provide technical assistance to the customers on AOG basis 24H/24 (3 weeks per year on average)
Required skills
We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience:
- Degree in mechanical or aeronautical engineering
- At least 5 years of experience in aeronautical design and technologies
- Knowledge of the aircraft structure
- Knowledge of the materials, processes and technologies used in aeronautical structural design and maintenance
- Knowledge of the Alenia and Airbus production plan system and ATR configuration management documentation
- Team spirit, sense of organisation, coordination and communication skills
- IT: proficiency in computer data processing tools and the MS Office suite
- English: negotiation level
