DuPont has an opportunity in our Engineering Team for an Electrical Safety Professional (ESP) providing service to six DuPont Nutrition & Health sites in France. The position will be located at one of the six sites, but as service is provided for all six, extensive travel will be essential.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the implementation and ongoing improvement of the electrical safety program across six sites in France. This requires an understanding of the hazards associated with electrical energy, as well as understanding of the relationship of electrical safety to personnel safety, process safety, fire protection, and asset productivity. The ESP will take on the role of instructor, trainer, designer, writer, presenter and communicator of electrical safety and technology information.
- Providing leadership and direction for electrical safety and technology whilst implementing DuPont`s long established electrical safety programmes. Permanent interaction with site managers, SHE professionals, engineers, electricians and contractors.
- Participation in electrical safety audits and development of controls and safe work practices that are focused on reducing electrical safety hazards and risks.
- Development of cost effective engineering solutions to eliminate, reduce and guard against personnel exposure to electrical hazards. Integration of electrical safety technologies and design into new project installations
- As member of the European Electrical Safety Team he/she will cooperate with more than 30 other electrical engineers of the European sites of DuPont. He/she will report to the leader of the European Electrical Safety Team and receive support from experienced colleagues in the team
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Ideally a minimum of 6-8 years previous work experience in an Electrical Engineering role.
- Experience in design and operation of High and Low Voltage distribution systems and appropriate European standards.
- A good understanding of equipment, installation and standards for electrical equipment inside potentially explosive atmospheres.
- An enthusiasm for learning and ability to apply technical and analytical reasoning skills to develop innovative solutions, all while thriving in a team environment.
- A proven ability of effective communication and training.
- Excellent French and good English written and oral skills are essential.
