Description
Purpose of the job: Working as part of a team to provide, maintain and monitor a consistent, cost-effective and sustainable building infrastructure with respect to electrical systems, including power distribution centres and emergency power systems, electrical installations, automatic access points, transportation systems, building control systems and networks.
Principal accountabilities:
- Coordinates operations to ensure availability of the building infrastructure. Manages contracts with external providers in multiple areas. Ensures relevant and up-to-date documentation.
- Manages projects with a focus on sustainability, energy efficiency and return on investment. Translates business requirements into technical specifications. Prepares and presents investment proposals to managers.
- Plans and continually monitors the annual budget for his / her areas of responsibility. Assists in maintaining a medium and long-term investment plan.
- Provides comprehensive cost estimates for enhancements and new installations.
- Communicates proactively with all stakeholders. Ensures compliance with internal and external regulations and keeps up to date on relevant market developments. Analyses incidents and coordinates further action with third parties.
- Provides out-of-hours emergency response service as part of an on-call rota.
Qualifications, skills, and experience:
- Bachelor degree in electrical engineering or a related area.
- Excellent understanding of the fields of responsibility with expert knowledge in one of those areas.
- Ability to motivate, persuade and develop peers and persons under his/her supervision.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills.
- Experience in contract management and able to represent the organisation.
- Fluency in German and English, knowledge of French and/or other languages desirable.
- At least five years' relevant work experience
