IEA's Information Systems Unit (ISU) provides the IT infrastructure, systems and applications in support of IEA's core substantial work. We currently have an opportunity for a general IT System Engineer Assistant specialised in Microsoft Windows server and applications as well as other technologies to help us manage and support our IT infrastructure and applications.

The chosen candidate will work under the supervision of Head of ISU and System Administrator and will join our small IT team and have the opportunity to further develop his/her skills and knowledge in overseeing the core network, server, and security systems with a focus on maintaining maximum availability and operations of systems.

Main Responsibilities

  • Manage and support the Microsoft domain network and related services including Active Directory, Group policies, DNS, DHCP, Certificate Infrastructure and other core domain services as well as the core server applications including Exchange, MS-SQL and SharePoint environments.
  • Manage and support the end-user desktop computing environment, providing knowledge in workstation engineering, managing desktop deployment using Microsoft tools such as WDS, WSIM to build and deploy desktop images.
  • Help manage and use Microsoft System Center and other tools to ensure desktops and servers operating systems and applications are kept up to date, upgrading systems and applying patches in a timely manner to ensure all systems are secure and protected.
  • Help with the administration of the physical and virtual server as well as the storage infrastructure based on VMware, NetApp (NAS/SAN) and HP servers. Help with the administration of the virtual VMware environment and vCenter management, install and configure server and operating systems.
  • Assist with storage configuration, file shares and folder administration, access and authorization management, as well as data backup and recovery.
  • Resolve technical problems in order to maintain system performance and security. Monitor performance and ensure maximal availability and security.
  • Provide user support and assistance in use of operating systems and applications.
  • Carry out other duties in other areas in support of the users of the systems, complete other tasks and projects as assigned or required.

Ideal Candidate Profile

Academic Background:

  • University degree in computer science or equivalent, with several years of professional experience managing Windows network and server infrastructure.

Professional Background:

  • Candidates should have the experience across multiple technology domains, with experience of managing both the data center environment as well as provide client support.

Tools:

  • Knowledge, experience and understanding of core Microsoft server and network technologies is required, including Active Directory and Group policies, Certificate Authority and DNS/DHCP.
  • Good knowledge and experience with Microsoft Exchange as well as DBA and SQL administration including in SharePoint environment.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft tools for deploying desktops and server operating systems.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft System Center and other tools for managing and maintaining systems.
  • Experience with the administration of a VMWare infrastructure including View VDI as well as experience with managing storage and server infrastructure.
  • Experience with Unix (BSD) administration and Internet information services, protocols and applications for operating an Internet presence (dns, smtp, http) would be an advantage but not essential.

Languages:

  • An excellent written and oral command of English and working knowledge of French or willingness to learn.

Contract Duration

2 year fixed term appointment, with the possibility of renewal.

What the OECD offers

  • Monthly base salary starting from 4194.84 EUR exempt of French income tax, plus allowances based on eligibility.

Please note, the appointment may be made at a lower grade based on the qualifications and professional experience of the selected applicant.
