Day to day business will require the successful candidate to: _ Plan, design, install and configure new systems and solutions _ Manage, maintain and support customer and in-house infrastructure (hardware and software) _ Provide local and remote support to customers using the company’s ticketing support system to effectively keep track, escalate and resolve issues inline the company’s SLAs. _ Use the company’s network management systems, environmental monitoring and alerting systems to proactively address potential issues. Like most IT jobs, the successful candidate will frequently need to work during out of normal office hours to carry out maintenance and other tasks. The successful candidate will report to the Head of Advanced Infrastructure and the Head of Data Center Services and will work closely with other staff members. | Qualifications required: | _ University/college degree in Computing, preferably from UK or US University _ Experience with VMWare server and desktop virtualization and availability technologies such as vSphere ESXi, vCenter, SRM, Horizon, etc. _ Experience with Microsoft technologies including Cloud technologies (Office 365, Exchange Online, Azure, etc.), Windows Server 2008/2012, Hyper-V, Active Directory, Exchange, Sharepoint, etc. _ Experience with Cisco routing, switching, security, IP telephony and wireless technologies. _ Experience with rack and blade server technologies and SAN storage systems _ Knowledge of Linux and Unix-based Operating Systems (Solaris, RedHat, CentOS, FreeBSD, etc.) _ Knowledge and experience with any of the following will be considered an advantage: _ Symantec's protection and backup/availability technologies _ Veeam's monitoring, backup and availability solutions _ Administration of web/application servers such as Apache and Tomcat _ Administration of RDBMS such as Oracle, SQL Server and MySQL _ Active certifications in any of the required technology areas will be considered as an important advantage |
