Participate in running the organization’s permanent PMO office. Maintain strong relationships with all parts of the organization, Senior Management Team and programmes and projects, identifying and filling any gaps in change, project and / or programme processes.

Maintain Canon Way of Working: Develop and maintain project management enablers, for example project portfolio, communication plan, organization charts, issue, risk and decision logs, change request log. ). Ensure repeatable and optimised project processes that drives efficiency and repeatability. Encourage standardised ways of working throughout the teams including creation of key documentation and following a standard project management process end to end by using Canon WoW and for change management ITIL. Develop, implement, maintain and give support on tooling like PPM, ALM and other supportive systems.
Planning: Own the master schedule that tracks and reports on implementation efforts needed to accomplish milestones. Consolidate all project and program level baselines, milestones and dependencies. Assists with the planning, monitoring, and delivery of the portfolio of projects as required. Facilitate the management of interdependencies (both inter and intra project). Project change management: Maintain documentation of changes to scope, timelines, milestones, and deliverables and identify dependency implications.
Risk management: Identify, analyse, respond to and monitor project risks; determine prioritization of program risks; maximize the probability and impact of positive events and minimize the probability and impact of adverse events. Provide a helicopter view, report anomalies and concerns, decisions and governance support and the tracking of actions. Maintain comprehensive Issue, Risk, and Decision documentation, as they relate to project timelines and dependencies, and coordinate solutions development.
Quality control: Assist the reviewing of work plans and related project management documentation, so they are completed in sufficient detail to provide for adequate management and control, as well as consist with overall master schedule and dependencies. Provide a single source of truth through ensuring all documentation is stored correctly and to the required quality level. Ensure the timeliness and quality of reports, and collect and collate metrics to measure overall and specific performance of projects and programs.
Champion governance in terms of health checks, gate reviews, and prioritisation, ensuring decision making and escalation/resolution where required.
Communication: Develop communication documents detailing implementation progress for Senior Management, Boards, and regular organisation including regular reporting. Support of management and other relevant stakeholders: Proactively assist the Program Manager and Project Managers by providing direct support, expert advice and direction regarding best practices. Help on-boarding of Project Managers ensuring they fully understand the common methods, processes, tools and techniques required to be used. Act as mentor for junior team members.
Education in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related technical field. Master’s Degree is a plus
Experience in working in and managing of Program/Portfolio offices is essential
Good knowledge of change management processes is essential
Good knowledge of project processes and experience with Project Management tools (Microsoft EPM, PPM).
Strong knowledge of different project/programme methodologies including In depth knowledge of Prince2, Agile, ITIL and P3O. MSP and MoP, MoV, MoR experience preferred
Fluent in English, written and verbally.
Experience in creating a PMO operation from scratch or improving an existing operation would be advantageous
