PURPOSE OF JOB
- Responsible for a team of 8 employees;
- Management and development of the EMEA supply chain;
- Optimise inventory and forecasting; initialise improvement projects;
- Organise the purchase of local parts, services and equipment for EMEA;
- Follow-up on Customer Surveys and Forwarder Reviews;
- Coordination between Logistics, CS and Sales & Marketing;
- Integration of the supply chain of acquired companies.

PRINCIPAL ACTIVITIES / DUTIES
- Develop an annual plan including goals, strategies and resource requirements;
- Staff department with the proper skills;
- Supervise Logistics & CS and delivery of materials to ensure that inventory turns, service levels and cost reduction objectives are reached;
- Administrate / manage projects for cost reduction, vendor consolidation, supply chain and customer satisfaction improvement;
- Participate in make / buy decisions and manage the EMEA sourcing program;
- Proactively follow-up on promotions and new product launches;
- Implement vendor/forwarder performance evaluation and improvement;
- Evaluation and follow-up on Customer Surveys and complaints;
- Ensure the right business perspectives are understood and maintain the high morale and motivation in the department;
- Together with IS and other departments, ensure the development of systems to support the operations;
- Identify enhancement opportunities relating to the supply chain. Define, lead and execute related projects;
- Act as an expert on logistic subjects relating to new product introductions over different divisions. Communicate and evaluate provided marketing and sales forecast. Participate in product launch- and sales meetings;
- Optimising distribution costs over distribution channels, increasing customer services. Monitor, analyse and follow up the logistic performance in EMEA, advising management on corrective actions required to improve the business;
- Responsible for the preparation of the weekly and monthly logistics reports;
- Control and maintain the integrated planning system: DRP / Forecasting and production planning (EOQ/ROP);
- Determine structure of future planning systems and adjust accordingly;
- Maintain close contact with US Manufacturing;
- Maintain EDI interfaces.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Essential:
- 4-5 years experience in inventory control;
- University degree (quantitative economics, commercial or industrial engineer);
- Broad understanding of business in an international environment;
- Advanced knowledge of forecasting, DRP, ABC-classification and other planning methods;
- Ability to manage negotiations with suppliers, distributors and customers;
- Ability to work in teams, get cooperation of all levels in the organization;
- Good skills and experience in People Management;
- Excellent communication skills;
- PC literate (Excel, Word, Access);
- First class analytical skills, accurate, result-oriented;
- Conceptual skills, but also capable to go into detail;
- Fluent English;
- Reside in the BeNeLux.
Desirable:
- Knowledge of Oracle EBS;
- Knowledge of Cognos BI;
- Knowledge of ERP systems;
- APICS certified;
- Additional degree in Business Administration;
- Good knowledge of German and French.
