Job Description
Fluor is now in an exciting period of significant growth, and as such we are now seeking a Home Office Pipelines Construction Manager. An established construction professional with solid recent Pipeline and Pipeline Station Construction experience together with strong current connections within the industry. The candidate would have credibility with Clients and be able to assist the team in establishing Project Direction. An individual who understands the various elements of construction Pipelines technology and other fundamentals of Pipelines construction. This role will be based here in our brand new, purpose built, UK headquarters in Farnborough but covering the EAME region.
The key responsibilities for this position include;
- Co-ordinates/manages Pipelines construction;
- Input to engineering constructability/assist in general pipeline related activities;
- Provide support to all Business Lines within the Farnborough Office in regard to Pipeline, flowline, station and AGI matters;
- Provide Home Office Pipeline Construction Management on various projects;
- Assistance with Pre-qualification/proposal submissions;
- Input to estimates and project schedules.
Primary Job Duties/Functions:
- Manages and executes assigned projects in accordance with the requirements of the contract as well as company, client, and company’s operating policies and principles;
- Responsible for ensuring full risk management, including the identification of potential risks and initiating treatments as appropriate;
- Executes the work in accordance with the quality standards and requirements specified for the project;
- Plan, organizes, coordinate, and control project in accordance with established policies, procedures, systems, and requirements;
- Controls project cost and schedule;
- Participate in business development activities and promotes a professional and business-like relationship with the client;
- Participates in the development of subordinates and others;
- Establish and monitor project safety and quality programs;
- Supervise project personnel; through subordinate leaders as appropriate;
- Coordinate and facilitate smooth interaction between intercompany departments as appropriate, including engineering, procurement, construction, cost and project controls;
- Providing appropriate reports and feedback to senior management through both formal and informal reviews;
- Represents the company to the customer and local community through maintaining positive relationships.
Key interfaces:
- Reports into the Regional Construction Director fo the UK, Europe and CIS (Commonwealth of Independent States) and Regional Pipelines Business Lines Lead;
- Interfaces with Senior Management Team in Farnborough and the region as required. Client and construction contractor interface as required;
Basic Job Requirements
- Extensive Pipelines Construction project and technical experience gained on significant projects in the EAME region;
- Construction Management experience with pipelines larger than upto and including 42 inch;
- Construction Management experience with meter/regulator stations;
- Construction Management experience with pumping/compression stations;
- Must have a good degree from a recognised University;
- Should ideally be Chartered.
Other Job Requirements
- Combination of significant Home Office and Site experience within a Region which includes the UK, Mainland Europe, Middle East, CIS and Africa;
- Should be able to plan and estimate projects from the bottom upwards;
- Able to develop march charts and project execution plans;
- Must have good presentation skills and communication skills. Must be a team player;
- Stays current with technical developments in area of expertise through continuing education, conferences, and periodicals, and continues to develop in-depth specialization;
- Supporting employee development by managing the performance of personnel through goal setting, ongoing assessment, and coaching;
- Develops relationships with key internal/external customers to identify issues and problems.
Preferred Qualifications
- Degree in Construction Management or Engineering Discipline.
