Senior Static Equipment Engineer: Heat Transfer Specialist

Responsible for the design, specification, selection, and services relating to pressure vessels and heat Exchangers, in the oil and gas project environment.

Functions as a technical specialist for the design of Heat Exchangers, Air coolers etc  you will be recognized as authoritative in your field. You will have a good working knowledge of equipment design codes and the common design programs is essential, in particular HTRI. Field experience in the manufacturing, fabrication, assembly, and installation is strongly desired.

You may supervise and leads a group of engineers, provides technical direction, approval and technical development of the group. You will have an ability to plan, budget, organise and control, enable change management, within tight deadlines and be able to cope with the pressure that entails.

The role of a Static engineer is highly valued within Bechtel and involves extensive interface with the client, project management, suppliers, other disciplines on the project and corporate management.

You should have a degree in Mechanical Engineering and be a Chartered Engineer.

The required competency and skills would typically have been built up working for a consultant engineering company or Engineering Contractor in the Oil and Gas/ Petrochemical fields or offshore oil and gas project environment. You will understand the methods to deliver success for the project at all the phases:  concept, front end engineering design (FEED), detailed design (EPC) and ideally construction, commissioning and operations.

You will have excellent interpersonal skills, be highly competent in written and spoken communication and therefore be able to make effective presentations, and write technical reports including technical papers.
