Main duties include the following:
Organisational
Carry out work in accordance with Company’s requirements for Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality systems; Preparation of CTR’s and man-hour estimates via the Company Management System where applicable; Work with Discipline Manager to improve engineering methods and standards; Execute technical duties in accordance with company procedures; Ensure the discipline work is completed on schedule and within budget; Review and check the work of others; Liaise with other disciplines on design, construction, fabrication, and commissioning issues; Provide added value to the development of their discipline / function; Compile weekly reports on progress; Responsibility for the performance of others within their discipline / function; Provide engineering and technical direction to engineers; Identify scope and schedule changes in accordance with Change Control Process; Ensure that designs comply with the relevant standards and procedures; Keep up to date with technical developments, National and International standards and legislative requirements related to the discipline scope; Provide mentoring and coaching.
Technical
Lead the Instrument Discipline team and provide technical leadership; Ensure the discipline team delivers all assigned work as per schedule and budget; Work with all discipline sub-leads to ensure the work is carried as per PEM and meets the required quality; Coordination with Project Management and Engineering Management teams; Liaison with Client; Liaison with other disciplines and contractors; Identify the discipline risks and maintain the discipline risk register; Development of design specifications, philosophies and datasheets for control systems and field instrumentation provided with packaged equipment; Carry out technical studies on technologies; Attendance of HAZOP, SIL and P&ID review meetings; Liaison with other discipline leads for any engineering issues and interfaces; Review of deviations and raise/resolve any technical queries.
Qualifications & personal attributes
Qualifications:
BEng/BSc or MEng/MSc degree in Instrumentation & control or equivalent; Chartered Engineer status.
Experience:
15 years or more in Oil and Gas industry, preferably in offshore; Knowledge of NORSOK standards; A solid knowledge of standard methods and practices.
