Our growth is your opportunity

Being part of Novo Nordisk Research & Development means working at one of the world's largest and most successful biopharmaceutical companies.

Our R&D organisation is vital to Novo Nordisk's continued growth and we always welcome talented people who would like to grow with us.

Do you have a strong Six Sigma mind-set and would you like to be a key engineering specialist within our Device Research and Development unit? Boost your career in one of the world’s leading companies within medical devices - located in the greater Copenhagen area.

Device Research & Development has a long and outstanding track-record of developing the best, most innovative and widely-used injection devices in the world. In the development of medical devices, we ensure that user insight and innovation go hand in hand with a strong quality mind-set.

We are organised in a project centric organisation in addition to a large Innovation Support centre of experts, providing state-of-the-art knowledge across projects. And we have nurtured a dynamic environment where ambitious teams and creative individuals strive to perfect our medical devices. We are constantly improving by challenging each other and testing new ideas to fuel our success.

About the department

Prefilled Device Development, located in Hillerød, develop innovative prefilled devices that add value to patients and Novo Nordisk. We bring prefilled device projects from development candidate to launch readiness. We are 65 dedicated employees in Prefilled Device Development, working in cross functional project teams, each responsible for one or more development projects.

As our new Metal Spring Specialist in Prefilled Device Development, you will become a member of a committed mechanical development team that are maturing new device concepts for future production.

The job

You will act as our Metal Spring Specialist across the Device Research & Development, and your main focus will be on developing and designing metal springs for a broad range of different injection devices.

Exploring input from both internal and external stakeholders, your responsibility will be to work out empiric analytical models from relevant spring performance parameters in the mechanical design, as well as in tests, production and control methods. Developing medical devices require a high level of documentation which will be a time consuming task from time to time.

The job will enhance your professional and personal development, providing you with an opportunity to develop skills within specialist expertise. Our new Metal Spring Specialist will ensure that we have relevant knowledge of metal springs internally and follow the development of the skill area expertise externally.

Qualifications

You hold an academic degree, preferably a M.Sc. or Ph.D., and have at least five years of experience within mechanical development in a research and development setting. You are skilled within mechanical disciplines like solid mechanics, tolerance stack-ups and material selection. It will be an advantage, but not a prerequisite, if you have experience with analytical models for dimensioning of different types of metal springs.

You have a solid lean mind-set and you have a proven track record of applying thorough knowledge of and experience using methods such as e.g. Six Sigma, DMAIC or Design of Experiments, within e.g. development or production processes. Hence, you have trained your ability to use statistics analyses and understand complex structures and systems.

We expect that you possess the potential to grow into a key specialist, both within our department, but also take on a broader impact across our organisation. Furthermore, you are a fast learner, excel at cross-functional collaboration and communicate at all levels. You are a team player by nature with the ability to work independently with a result-oriented ‘can-do’ attitude. Proficiency in oral and written English is essential.

Device R&D is an organisation with many international employees and we welcome non-local applicants. We have great experience helping people move to Denmark and will support relocation.

Working here, you will be faced with a wealth of opportunities and be part of a team of the best and brightest in your field. Our success depends on your ability to rethink, reimagine and redesign how devices can improve peoples’ lives.

At Novo Nordisk, your skills, dedication and ambition help us change lives for the better. In exchange, we offer you an opportunity to work with extraordinary talent and benefit from a range of possibilities for professional and personal development.
