A position located in the Pipeline group which is responsible for ensuring the integrity of the entire subsea pipeline grid in Maersk Oil in connection with continuous operation of ageing assets in the Danish sector of the North Sea. The vacant position as pipeline engineer is a technical position with no managerial responsibilities.You will be part of a small dedicated group of highly qualified and motivated colleagues.

Key Responsibilities

The Pipeline Department provides specialist technical supports to other departments as part of a “Project Maturation Proces”.

The job includes:

  • Responsibility for structural integrity of the existing pipeline systems and assessment of new and existing Pipelines and appurtenances;
  • Responsibility for lifetime extension of pipeline systems as well as development of calculation methods and design criteria following the development in the industry.

Pipeline engineering activities are typically performed by external design houses; however, the work is defined, project managed and coordinated by you in-house in the Pipeline Department, either as an integral part from the Pipeline Department or alternatively as part of a specific Project Team with a specific Development Project.

Who we are looking for

As a successful candidate you must be a team player experienced within design of subsea pipelines. You must be confident in spoken and written English and have experience within some of the below areas:

  • Detailed design and assessment of pipeline systems;
  • Pipeline design codes and good industry practice design solutions;
  • Liason with Certifying Agency for third party approval of designs;
  • Development of pipeline concepts;
  • Preparation of project specification for installation of pipelines and risers;
  • Preparation and issuing tender documents for all pipeline engineering, procurement and installation;
  • Project management;
  • Follow-up and progress reporting from material manufacture and fabrication subcontractors;
  • Day to day operational business in connection with pipeline installation campaigns;
  • Reporting progress/status to a Project manager if working in a specific Project Team or alternatively reporting to the Head of Pipelines.

As a candidate, you are expected to have professional experience of 5+ years and you are expected to hold a relevant engineering education and be able to document relevant working experience from a design consultant/installation contractor and/or oil and gas operator.
