The working environment
Within the Competence Centre “Modelisation & Calculations”, the “Thermalhydraulics” Group in the “Nuclear” Entity of Tractebel Engineering is in charge of the engineering studies in the field of thermalhydraulics for nuclear power plants and industries.
It comprises the following disciplines:
- Thermalhydraulic licensing studies of the Nuclear Power Plants within the framework of new build or plant operation support. Thermalhydraulics covers the engineering studies of the whole Nuclear Power Plant system: nuclear reactor, primary pumps, steam generator, valves;
- Thermal engineering studies of cogeneration plants;
- Computational Fluid Dynamics.
Your function
- You work in a project-oriented environment;
- You participate in international projects for the development of new types of nuclear reactors;
- You provide support to the exploitation of existing nuclear power plants;
- You perform complex thermalhydraulic engineering analysis in the domain of nuclear reactors systems and cogeneration plants using industry-standard methods and simulation tools;
- You analyze the main components of nuclear power plants as reactor core and steam generators.
Qualifications
- You have a master degree in Engineering preferably in Mechanics or Nuclear Engineering;
- You have more than 10 years of experience in thermodynamics and heat transfer phenomena;
- You have a significant experience with the T&H codes CATHARE and/or RELAP5;
- You have strong interest for the energy sector and for high-level expertise;
- You have a strong analytical mind and a problem solving attitude;
- You have good communication and interpersonal skills;
- You are fluent in English;
- You are willing to rapidly learn Dutch and/or French.
