JOB DESCRIPTION

The University of Duisburg-Essen invites applications for the joint position in the Faculty of Medicine and the Leibniz-Institut für Analytische Wissenschaften – ISAS - e.V. (ISAS), Dortmund in “Mechanisms of Cardiovascular Diseases” (W3 BBesO grade post).

The University Professor will be assigned leave to be appointed as Director of the Research Department “Biomedical Research“ at ISAS (so-called “Jülicher Modell”).

Candidates are expected to establish an independent and competitive research program and to participate in the teaching of the faculty of medicine.
The Medical School in Essen promotes research particularly in the following areas: Cardiovascular Disease, Cancer, and Transplantation Medicine, as well as the bridging disciplines of Immunology, Infectious Diseases, and Genetic Medicine.

DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Qualifications according to § 36 Hochschulgesetz NRW are required. Publications in peer-reviewed journals and successful experience with competitive third-party funding applications are mandatory.
