T&E, Europe's principal environmental organisation on transport issues, is currently seeking an independent contractor to work on internal IT. The candidate is expected to have wide-ranging IT knowledge and will be working mainly in the following areas:

• Developing a contacts management system under the direction of the Communications Team
• Developing the internal document management & sharing system
• Review of current email and account security systems
• Developing IT hardware/software procurement policy & procedures.

There are additional but less essential activities which may be developed, time permitting, including review of the T&E website and the T&E Intranet systems and developing IT crisis management systems.

The highly motivated candidate will work under the direction of the the Communications Manager and the Office Manager and will be expected to have a knowledge of existing and developing IT management systems. The candidate will be expected to research information on IT systems, make recommendations to the management based on this research and follow through with implementation. They will also be expected to develop clear procedures for all staff members to follow, in relation to individual applications of IT systems within T&E.

This is a part-time, 4-month contract for an independent consultant, based in Brussels. It is expected that the candidate would start in January 2015.
