Scientific Software Developer existing Mesh Generator – 1,0 FTE
(project based position from January 2015 till September 2015)

The Plaxis Research Department is involved in research, product definition, software development and high-end services. A direct or indirect contribution is given to the development of the advanced Plaxis products and the fulfillment of client needs.

Job description

  • Maintaining and improving the existing PLAXIS mesh generator (in Fortran)
  • Defining solutions for technical scientific problems in the existing PLAXIS mesh generator

Requirements

  • MSc or PhD level in the field of Computer Sciences, or Computational Mechanics or Numerical Mathematics
  • Working knowledge of and proven experience with Fortran
  • Experience with mesh generation techniques
  • Team player with good communication skills

Preferred qualifications

  • Good understanding of 2D and 3D finite element software
  • Knowledge and experience in the domain of geometric and topological methods for shape modeling
  • Proven experience with OOP
