In light of the importance of the European market to Boeing and in recognition of the growing need for comprehensive engagement with EU stakeholders, the Boeing Brussels office is adding a director, Technical & Regulatory Affairs to the team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for regulatory affairs in the areas of REACh chemical legislation, aviation safety and security, as well as Air Traffic Management (ATM) and related technologies.

In these focus areas, the person’s primary responsibilities include:

  • Monitoring, assessing and informing Boeing business units and functions of relevant emerging EU policy issues;
  • Collaborating with internal stakeholders to define, where necessary, a coordinated position;
  • Advising and consulting with Boeing management;
  • Representing Boeing with EU stakeholders to advocate a coordinated position;
  • Developing a strategy for maintaining relationships with relevant external organizations;
  • Coordinating the broader Boeing representation at appropriate EU forums.

In terms of external engagements regarding these focus areas, the successful candidate would serve as a key liaison to important Boeing stakeholders, including relevant directorates in the European Commission, members of the European Parliament, industry associations (e.g. ACI, AEA, IATA, GAMA), Eurocontrol, SESAR Joint Undertaking and the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA).

The successful candidate has several years of relevant experience in a Public Affairs or Regulatory Affairs role, preferably in the aviation industry and/or as a subject matter expert on REACh chemical legislation, aviation safety and security and ATM. A university degree in either law, public policy, or engineering is preferred. This position is based in Brussels and reports to the president of EU & NATO relations, Boeing International.

Qualifications - a degree is mandatory.
