Lufthansa has created a middleware platform used to interconnect heterogeneous systems and standardize some transversal services like security, session management and reporting.
It is a modern SOA platform relying on various industry standards and is a critical component in their overall architecture as most of their traffic coming to Amadeus Altéa is going through this component.
It offers various possibilities like protocol and message adaptation or service orchestration.
In 2013 Amadeus took over the evolution of this component and its operation in its data center. A team of roughly 25 persons distributed on various sites has been created. Lufthansa is using our Altéa suite and is expecting us to drive the technical evolutions of this platform and to optimise its integration with our Passenger Service System.
The Architecture & Standards is a transversal group providing services to the rest of the organisation. Its primary missions include consulting on architectural matters, governance of our technical standards and evolutions. The group offers various opportunities around these core missions.
 
Purpose
 
Ensure the consistency, the quality and the efficiency of the LH middleware platform.  Optimise and propose evolution of the system including third-parties connection.
 
Key accountabilities
 
Architecture & Technology
    • Propose & Drive technical evolutions of the LH middleware platform in a long term view
    • Make architecture recommendations for the optimization of the system
    • Accountable of their integration in the technical environment
    • Assure technology watch on middleware components,
 
Roadmap organisation & Project involvement
    • Define the architecture evolution roadmap and propose it to the project team
    • Drive technical studies,
    • Maintain the high level architecture documents of the component and interconnected systems
 
Consultancy & Knowledge
    • Provide consultancy & maintain accurate knowledge of the project team on
        • Web service integration,
        • Tibco middleware,
        • JEE services,
        • SOA architecture,
        • Altéa components
 
Customer relationship
    • Analyse the customer requirements & provide appropriate reporting to the customer,
    • Ensure that architecture solutions match the functional requirements.

Education
    • University or engineering degree with a Computer Science major.
    • Java EE
    • Web Services design
    • UML modeling
    • Knowledge of software testing methodology
    • Knowledge of Enterprise Application Integration, TIBCO and security concepts is a plus.
    • Trainings will be organised to acquire necessary skills.
 
Relevant work experience
    • 5+ years in Software Development
    • Experience in the integration of Altéa PSS components is a plus
