Role Summary/Purpose:

As Operations leader and focal point for the Renewables team, the Operations Leader will be responsible for driving and coordinating the successful execution or the Renewables operating matrix.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate Renewables Systems Leadership across Renewables Platform Globally;
  • Act as the primary interface between the Renewables Vertical Leader, the Renewables Platform Leader and Platform Team;
  • Establish and maintain the Operating Rhythm for the Renewables Platform;
  • Lead interaction, co-ordinate, and drive supporting Platforms and associated functions and report out to the Renewables Systems Leader;
  • Coordinate the Key Business Matrix ownership and monitoring for the Renewables Platform;
  • Assist in the facilitation of On Time Delivery and Line of Balance reviews;
  • Assist in the facilitation of Cost Margin Reporting ensuring that Margins and Erosions are reported in a timely manner to the Renewables Leader;
  • Coordinate facilitation of Build Plan and Backlog reviews with Vertical and Systems Leaders reporting out to Finance and Renewables Leader;
  • Support and assist Renewables Systems Leaders with Project Financial issue resolution;
  • Support Renewables Systems Leaders with strategic Planning and Global Collaboration;
  • Co-ordinate Renewables Platform legal and ethics compliance (SOL);
  • Co-ordinate Renewables Platform EHS compliance and to ensure risks are highlighted;
  • Identify and propose improvements in processes, tools and assist in rolling out improvements when agreed with leadership team;
  • Support the leadership team in the development of technology road maps in response to future business opportunities and strategy, whilst providing direction and a domain application view point to the Platform Engineering and Technology and Value Engineering teams;
  • Liaise with Platform Engineering, Technology and Value Engineering, and Supply Chain as appropriate in order to support the project and the business;
  • Liaise with other GE businesses, sub-contractors and suppliers as appropriate in order to support the Renewables Platform;
  • Provide advice and assistance to the overall project team as appropriate;
  • Improve the efficiency of the engineering process, through development and use of standard engineering solutions for projects;
  • Develop and contribute to the on-boarding for new starters.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Degree (or equivalent) in an Engineering, Commercial or Financial discipline;
  • Experience in driving and leading multi – disciplinary teams;
  • Ability to work well with cross-functional global teams;
  • Ability to work to aggressive timelines with a "can do" attitude;
  • Able to effectively communicate with and influence the team to drive success;
  • Willing to travel within UK and overseas for short durations;
  • Advance knowledge of Microsoft Office tools: PowerPoint and Excel.
