AkzoNobel Functional Chemicals (ANFC) consists of a number of different businesses that produces a variety of chemical intermediates, performance chemicals and end-use consumer products on a global scale. Many of these chemicals can be found in items you use every day such as detergents, personal care products, crop protection, micronutrients, building materials, paint, pharmaceuticals and food.

sBU Chelates and Micronutrients
The sub-business unit Chelates and Micronutrients, is part of ANFC and recognized as the world’s number one chelates and micronutrient producer. The business is renowned for its strong trade names such as Dissolvine®, Ferrazone® and Rexolin®. Chelating agents control the behavior (extracting or releasing) of metal ions in water and are used in a wide variety of markets , such as agriculture, pulp and paper, detergents, food , oil and many others

Headquartered in Shanghai (China), the products are marketed through regional centers in the Netherlands, the USA and Shanghai. Products are produced in Herkenbosch (the Netherlands), Lima (the United States of America), Ningbo (China) and Kvarntorp (Sweden). 

The sBU Chelates employs approximately 400 employees worldwide and we currently seek an experienced, solid performing and ambitious Sales Manager Industrial Chelates EMEA.

This is a senior sales role and you will be responsible for the sales and contribution margin for selected accounts/countries and regional Key Accounts with a focus on the Pulp and Paper industry in Europe.

You will join a multinational and multicultural company that is committed to your personal and professional development.

The position will initially be located in Amersfoort, the Netherlands, before moving to Arnhem or Amsterdam, the Netherlands. You must be prepared to spend 30-40% of your time traveling.

Key responsibilities and deliverables

Within this scope you plan, organize, control and coordinate sales activities for selected accounts/countries, set up account plans and prepare the yearly budget and rolling forecasts for the accounts/countries in the assigned territory.

At all times you follow market developments, keep customers informed of market and product developments, evaluate customer (quality) needs and translate those needs into added value technical marketing activities for Chelates.

Further, you identify new business opportunities and initiate R&D opportunities. You also play a role in sBU projects and contribute to product development and awareness by organizing exhibitions and seminars and by giving technical service.

Candidate profile

To apply for this position you must possess the following attributes:

  • Bachelor or Master level;
  • Proven track record in the Pulp and Paper industry;
  • Territory management experience, including working with distributors and agents;
  • Flexible, innovative and creative, with the ability to come up with imaginative solutions and radical alternatives to traditional methods and approaches;
  • Highly-motivated, self-starting and able to make full use of all available time and resources;
  • Good (multifunctional) team player;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills including fluent written and spoken English.
