EMERGENCY TEAM LEADER

CARE Turkey is looking to hire a long-term emergency team leader and/or program managers to run its growing urban refugee program while developing longer-term programs to position CARE’s urban refugee response for the future. The Emergency Team Leader will lead the establishment and management of any refugee emergency responses in southern Turkey in coordination with the CARE Turkey Team. S/he will be responsible for the quality and effectiveness of CARE’s emergency response while also helping consolidate CARE Turkey’s refugee program for the future.

The requirements include:

· Minimum of 5 years humanitarian aid experience in complex disasters.

· High level of all aspects of managerial experience, including managing multi-million dollar budgets.

· Experience in complex decision making and leading a multi-disciplinary, multinational team under difficult circumstances.

· The highest level of expertise in representation and negotiation with governments and donors.

· Strong understanding of the humanitarian emergency operating context, including Sphere, the humanitarian system, donors, security, civil military liaison and program management.

Location and Accompaniment Status

This position will be based in southern Turkey, most likely Gaziantep or Şanliurfa. This posting is currently classified as unaccompanied, though the country office regularly reviews this status.
