The post is Policy Advocacy and Campaigns Officer and you'll be in the Advocacy, Campaigns and Research Unit in the Public Engagement department.
In post, you'll be supporting policy, advocacy and campaigns work for our lead campaign Because I am a Girl which aims to work for and with young people to ensure all girls can claim their rights. The initial focus on the post will be on developing policy, advocacy and campaign analysis and resources in the area of girls economic empowerment as well as supporting the wider campaign roll out.

Building on our Because I am a Girl campaign to date we want to increase our policy change impact through the development of specific policy content, targeted advocacy strategies and greater public engagement and strategic communication with supporters, especially girls and boys and young men and women.
Working closely with colleagues in Advocacy, Campaigns and Research, as well as with our fundraising colleagues across the Public Engagement Department and with our International Headquarters Policy, Advocacy and Campaigns team, the post holder will support the delivery of the Girls Rights Campaign. Through a strategic approach to advocacy and campaigns, with our programme work and our commitment to child rights as a foundation, we are dedicated to achieving key policy change objectives and are seeking an exceptional candidate to be at the heart of delivering this vision.
In this role, the successful candidate will be working collaboratively across our internal and external stakeholders, you'll be supporting the delivery of our Because I am a Girl campaign and building our youth advocacy network in the UK in order to support the delivery of key policy change objectives.
The usual recruitment rate for this post (Grade 4) is £30,095 with future pay progression within the pay band from £30,095 to £31,679. (The salary will be subject to the pay review in January 2015).
Our annual leave entitlement starts at 25 days (plus public holidays) for new starters. It goes up to 30 once you've been with us for 6 years.
We match contributions up to 6% on the pension scheme and will automatically enrol anyone who has not elected to join the scheme in the third pay period of their employment, currently at a rate of 1% contributions for you and for Plan.
