Marie Skłodowska-Curie European Joint Doctorate in Advanced Biological Waste-To-Energy Technologies (ABWET), 2015

The Marie Skłodowska-Curie European Joint Doctorate in Advanced Biological Waste-to-Energy Technologies (ABWET) provides education and research at PhD level on environmental technologies that convert waste materials into bioenergy, training doctoral candidates to think globally and work in multidisciplinary research teams. ABWET is centered on environmental technologies for treatment of waste, with a focus on anaerobic treatment processes, digestate valorization and biofuel clean-up. ABWET focuses on fundamental and applied research of different environmental treatment technologies as well as on the development of innovative recovery and reuse technologies with enhanced market potential. ABWET beneficiaries are University of Cassino and Southern Lazio (Italy), UNESCO-IHE (Netherlands), University Paris-Est (France) and Tampere University of Technology (Finland), that develop a joint PhD education and research curriculum with joint selection, supervision and PhD defense procedures.
